Quiet roads and well-marked trails lead to turreted villages, monasteries and chapels, or to the heights of the Taygetos Mountain range.
In the immediate area around the villa, there are all sorts of places to visit: ancient churches, adventurous caves, a traditional oil mill and a museum where you can discover many curiosities . For those looking for to explore further afield, the nearby towns of Areopolis, Gythion or Kalamata are both picturesque and interesting.
Quiet, yet close to everything
The two apartments of "Villa Pefnos" enjoy absolute calm and unparalleled views of the sea. Nevertheless, everything you need for a relaxing holiday is close by. The nearest beach is only a five minute walk, a beach taverna - also right on the beach (Voulimeneas ) - can be reached on foot in not even ten minutes.
Agios Nikolaos - the nearest village - is about two kilometers away and easily reached by a small coastal road. In this picturesque little fishing village you will find a number of restaurants and cafes, supermarkets, a cash machine, boat and bike rentals, a pharmacy and a health centre. There is also a small pasta factory which sells direct. This is still a very quiet village, you will still feel off the beaten track.
